What to say. I heard early this morning, and still can't get myself to believe it.

If there were a god, Paco would be showing him right now how to play bulerias.

Yes, what everyone else said. I saw him in the early 80s w/ Dimeola and McGlauthlin. Paco smoked them.

He was a link to the real flamenco. It's strange that when Spain shook off the dark ages of Franco and joined Europe it seemed to lose its connection to its past. Rameriz guitars made after 1975 went downhill and I'm afraid the same was true of much of flamenco. But not Paco.

Thanks for posting - I hadn't seen this in the media. What a great loss! His music had an emotion all its own. This is such grievous news.

He's one of those musicians who, when I listen to him. makes me feel like I've wasted my life! Well, or I should have tried a lot harder.
