Oberheim Cyclone Arpeggiator

Postby Mike Stranks » Mon Mar 29, 2010 7:40 pm

Way outside my area of expertise here so I'm looking for advice please...

A professional guitarist I work with has an Oberheim Cyclone Arpreggiator which has earnt him a bit of money in the past. He no longer uses it and we're wondering if there's a market for it and what it might be worth.

Your informed insights greatly appreciated!

Cheers. Mike

As with most things, someone somewhere will be interested. Pricing it will be problematic as they rarely show up. He can try eBay ..

Thanks Dave.

Yup; we've been looking on EBay, but as you say they very rarely appear. One went on EBay Germany for 166 Euros last month...

I bought one in Japan for about 4,000 yen (about 25 quid). Haven't used it really.

It's stuck in the cupboard with a tenori-on.

Yeah, they aren't worth a lot - none of that eighties we-had-to-buy-hardware-boxes-because-computers-weren't-really-part-of-our-studios-yet survived long after software could start to control our MIDI gear.

It was quirky and crashy as well, iirc.

Surprises me how much 'vintage' stuff goes for nowadays. Regardless of it's usability.

It's essentially just an arpeggiator.
