Roland MKS-50 vs Alpha Juno

Postby -AndyF- » Thu Nov 24, 2011 11:29 am

Im a happy owner of an Alpha Juno but really need to downsize my studio.
Since i dont really use the Juno as a keyboard im thinking about picking up a MKS-50 to fit in my rack and sell the Juno.

Am i right in thinking soundwise they're identical?

Yup. The 50 was the rack mount of the Alpha Juno range.

Yep, I did this many moons ago and they're identical as same model analogue synthesizers get.

Love my MKS-50, but not much fun to program on its own. What editors are people using these days? I'm going to have to leave Classic OS behind soon, which knocks out using Sounddiver...

You could always use one of those Behringer BCR controllers, my friend uses it with his Alpha Juno keyboard and it works pretty well from memory. I keep toying with getting one for mine but I don't use the aJuno that much, can't say I'm it's biggest fan... £70 synth that filled a gap when I needed it

I've made a virtual PG300 for Logics Environment, it's exactly the kind of thing you're after if you want to tweak your Alpha Juno & use Logic.
