Dave Smith Prophet or Moog Voayger?

Postby Murdoch » Mon May 21, 2012 4:46 pm

I'm second guessing my choice for the Moog now that I've got the cash all ready to go.
The Prophet sounds creamier, moog chunkier. Any other reasons from experienced synth-heads on why I should pay a substantial extra for the Moog?

I'm after desktop version btw.

One's poly, one's mono. Does that matter?

Head would say Prophet, heart would say Voyager.

Wallet usually follow heart ... (and occasionally 'Little Dave') ...

One's poly and mono, the other's mono.

I'm thinking you could get a Prophet 08 AND a Phatty for the same as a Voyager ... or maybe a P08 and Vermona Lancet

*Personally* I'd take the Prophet and spend the rest of the change on something else sexy...

Ok so now I'm thinking of Slim Phatty, Prophet 08 and Access Virus. Always wanted a Voayger, but just too pricey.
Then perhaps add a Voyager in the future. I doubt my sound platte will miss much if I go from Voyager to Slim Phatty(?). However this way, I have 3 different flavours in the bank.

And the mono function doesn't other me (much).
