Speaker Wall Mounts

Postby Jonesy512 » Fri Nov 18, 2011 7:40 am

Hey guys

I just purchased a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 686's and might I just had they are absolutely amazing for the price I paid ($599 AUD).

And now I'm after a relatively cheap pair of wall mounts to suit them just wondering what everyone else would recommend and I am also buying on-line as local stores only have cheap and nasty ones.

If anyone would like to ask any questions about the speakers chuck me an email at caleb.jones512_at_gmail.com

I edited your email as the bots would grab it in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't recommend wall mounts. Floor stands are more solid and will project a better sound into the room with less bleed to other rooms or to neighbours houses.. Especially floor stands filled with sand as they are less likely to be affected by speaker vibration.

Ahhh unfortunately I am limited for space and floor mounting will only be a last resort.

Same here Jonesy and I used something like these...

Note:Do not attempt to attach such things directly to a wall. I used 19mm MDF,about 400x600mm fixed first with "No Nails" then ran 50mm c'sunk screws and plastic plugs thru'
The speakers, Tannoy 5as, have not fallen off yet! Mind you, the wall will need re plastering if the plates ever come off but that is the "kids'" problem!

Dave. Ah! Link does not work I shall try again.

I have used Tono Systems HT 55. Quality is excellent but always check for originals. There are duplicates in market sold by Technoguru or something. Have read about breakages and the build quality looks cheap. Always check for Tono Hologram on the box
