Acoustic Blankets for Vocal Booth

Postby Big Kahuna » Tue Jun 24, 2014 3:42 am

Hi,

I'm thinking about building a vocal booth in a closet space at my house and, after looking at the expensive prices of acoustic foam, I'm wondering whether these acoustic blankets (http://www.vocalboothtogo.com/acoustic- ... tic-(sound)-blankets-for-sound-absorption---producers-choice/large-acoustic-blankets-producers-choiceblack-and-white/8-26#ja-pathway) would be a better option. The website says they have an NRC of 0.8, but I'm curious if anyone has actually used them and can offer feedback.

Cheers,
Stephen

Rigid fibreglass is by far the most cost-effective solution. Not sure what it is called in New Zealand though.

The sort of thing I'm thinking of is the RS45 or RS60 featured on this page.

I figured out how to do hyperlinks, so hopefully my links will actually work this time. Is the Novahush Panel Absorber or the Quietstone Acoustic Panel an acceptable alternative for rigid fibreglass?

I don't have any experience of those products but they look like they're going to be expensive. I couldn't find the equivalent of the Knauf product on that site but I'd be surprised if you can't buy something similar.
