BASCA Presents: Composing for Video Games

Award winning composers look at Horizon Zero Dawn

BASCA (the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors) will be hosting a distinguished panel featuring Ivor Novello award-winning composer Joris de Man (Horizon Zero Dawn, Killzone series) and BAFTA-nominated artist/producer duo The Flight aka Joe Henson and Alexis Smith (Horizon Zero Dawn, C4’s Kids On The Edge, Alien: Isolation, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Lana Del Rey) for an evening of discussion and insight into the creative processes and making a career in composing music for video games.

These A-list composers, who are interviewed in the upcoming July issue of SOS (out June 23), will discuss the specific challenges of working in the interactive medium compared with other entertainment forms, providing examples from their recent collaboration on Sony PlayStation 4’s best-selling new game, Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerrilla Games.

The event will take place at Tileyard Studios, the Kings Cross, London on May 30th from 6.30 to 9pm.

Tickets to the event, organised by BASCA, range in price from free to £10, depending on your affiliation with various music and production societies, guilds and unions.
