Peavey EuroSys PA range re-released

With subs and full-range models added!

It's not often that a line of PA equipment is such a success that it is re-introduced, but that's what Peavey are doing with their venerable EuroSys range, first launched in the 1980s and still to be found soldiering on with pub bands and DJs, all these years later.EuroSys PA cabinet: EuroSys PA cab

According to Peavey their dealers have been constantly nagging them to bring the old warriors back into the range, so the US company have finally obliged — and they've even added two new full-range cabinets and two new subs.

The EuroSys 700 delivers 350W RMS continuous (700W programme) at 4Ω through a 12-inch, heavy duty woofer plus EuroSys 175T compression driver. The EuroSys 800 incorporates a 400W RMS continuous (800W programme) 15-inch woofer, again with the EuroSys 175T compression driver. The subs are available with either a 15-inch (EuroSys 115) or 18-inch (EuroSys 118) driver, each capable of handling 400W RMS (800W programme), and each using specially developed woofers with high-power voice coils and a dual-cooling strategy. Frequency response is 38Hz to 250Hz for the EuroSys 115 and 35Hz to 250Hz for the EuroSys 118. Both incorporate a passive crossover with a high-pass-filtered output, employing a low-distortion, high-power inductor and triple capacitor banks for greater efficiency and extended reliability.EuroSys subwoofer: EuroSys subs come with either 15-inch or 18-inch drivers.

If Peavey were ever tempted to use the venerable name and apply it to a range of plastic cabinets, they've resisted it splendidly, because the EuroSys models still feature the durable, great-sounding 18mm plywood enclosures that helped win the line's reputation. The cabinets are complemented by recessed combi jack/Speakon connections, recessed steel handles and stand adapters (with a satellite pole fitting for the subs), resilient paint finishes and curved, black, heavy duty grilles.

Finally, making sure that the new EuroSys range (like its previous incarnation) not only gigs as good as new for years to come but also retains its rugged good looks, high-quality protective covers are supplied as standard.

The EuroSys 700 will sell for around £255, the 800 for £280, while the 115 sub will wander out of the store with you for £270. The larger EuroSys 118 subwoofer will sell for £305.
