RME launch Babyface Pro

Company's little interface grows up, fills out.

Created from a block of aluminium, the new Babyface Pro combines quality, portability, and newly-designed analogue and digital circuits to provide supreme fidelity with no compromises in level, noise or distortion.

For the main I/O RME have designed a completely new XLR socket, which integrates seamlessly into the new housing. Meanwhile, the two headphone outputs have separate driver stages to match low and high impedance headphones.

Babyface Pro’s two digitally controlled preamps provide individually switchable 48V, and these new circuits feature up to 70dBs of gain — enough gain for microphones with the lowest output.

The latest generation low latency AD/DA converters, combined with RME’s SteadyClock technology, are claimed to offer exceptional specifications that will satisfy the most demanding of professionals.  Finally, optical TOSLINK I/O (ADAT or SPDIF up to 192 kHz), two line/instrument inputs along with the MIDI I/O complete the package.

Babyface Pro’s efficient design rarely requires an external PSU, making it perfect for mobile recording, even with a pair of condenser microphones and ships with RME’s TotalMix FX (Mac, Windows & iOS), giving you total control of all I/O, the 3-band parametric EQ, reverb and delay when mixing, routing and more.
