New trigger makes use of dead space between drums

Roland BT-1 A new product from Roland could provide an elegant solution for acoustic drummers in need of electronic sounds on stage. The product in question is the BT-1, a curved trigger bar which can be mounted on the side of a drum so there’s no need to rearrange your kit.
Naturally, the BT-1 can also be attached to a V-Drum kit, if you’re that way inclined, or it can be configured as a transport control for sequencers. You will, however, need to connect the trigger to a sound source or drum module to turn the trigger output into anything useful such as MIDI or audio.
The BT-1 will be available in the first quarter of 2013 and will retail for £79.
