Calling all DJs: Live the dream in Ibiza this season

Burn Studios announce residency programme in partnership with beatport

Press Release: Once-in-a-lifetime Ibiza residencies up for grabs for three ambitious DJs - burn studios today announced the debut of its Residency programme; a global contest that will see up and coming talent go head-to-head in a gruelling competition to score a coveted Residency at one of the most renowned clubs in Ibiza, including super club Privilege.

Live now at www.burn-studios.com, Residency is a truly once-in-a-lifetime shot at international superstardom for up and coming DJs looking to get in front of the world’s electronic music community and supercharge their career coached by burn studios’ 2012 mentors: Sasha, Luciano, Jamie Jones and 2manyDJs.

Entrants will need to display their passion, determination and technical ability to pave their way through a number of competition stages before earning the right to add their names to the prestigious list of Ibiza’s resident DJ’s who will be performing to thousands throughout the season.

The DJs’ first step is to register their profile and upload their best 15-20 minute mix using at least one track from Beatport’s Top 100 to the contest page and establish a groundswell of online support. The top ten entries in each participating country will be chosen by a local expert panel and be invited to prove their proficiency in front of a live audience at a domestic “Mix Off” event.

One lucky winner from each country will then secure their place to fight for the Residency, alongside other contestants from around the world, where they will work hard and play hard at the International Music Summit (held in Ibiza 23rd – 26th May). During the day, DJs will have full access to the convention and embark on a learning, networking and publicity drive to build their profile and build up support. When the sun goes down, they’ll be invited to watch the best at work at the IMS’ official parties with VIP access, including to the Dalt Villa Festival.

In July, hopefuls will be propelled into the final stage of the competition where they will learn and be coached from the best at burn studios’ residency bootcamp. There, contestants will face a six day itinerary of intensive and inspirational lectures and one on one workshops by music industry leaders and the burn studios mentors Luciano, Sasha, Jamie Jones and 2manydjs. The Residency winners will be selected by a panel of Ibiza’s top Club owners and promoters, offering each of the 3 winners a priceless residency and incredible exposure.

burn studios’ residency has been developed by burn studios in partnership with top music retailer Beatport and global music education leader SAE institute.

Residency is burn studios’ latest commitment to the international music community. It’s no secret that some of the world’s best kick-started their careers with a residency spot in Ibiza and we developed this initiative to give aspiring DJs the same amazing opportunity and access. Working with some of the most talented names in the industry at our bootcamp this summer, we’re looking forward to supporting, coaching and showcasing the next generation of passionate and creative DJs” commented Erik Hofstaedter, Marketing Manager, Burn Europe.

Residency is now open for registration. For full information please visit www.burn-studios.com
