Press Release: The RME Advanced Remote Control (ARC) is a new optional control device for the Fireface UFX and recently launched Fireface UCX. RME have designed the wired ARC to offer direct access to the most frequently used actions and commands required on virtually every studio session.
The RME ARC is extremely flexible and can be configured through TotalMix FX. It will simplify workflow and greatly increase the usability of the RME interface in any real world situation. There are a whole host of possible applications, as well as the ARC being a comprehensive monitor controller it also gives control over mic levels, headphones, mutes, solos and talkback.
The RME ARC consists of a solid ergonomically designed metal case and connects to the main interface via a 5 m (16.4 ft.) cable and a special connector on the back of both units.
The controls on the top of the ARC feature a rotary encoder which is used to change various parameters such as gain and volume. There are 8 push buttons, 6 of them equipped with LEDs. 7 of the buttons can be freely assigned via TotalMix FX to more than 36 different commands, including fader groups, Speaker B, Dim, Mono, Reverb, Echo, Cue Phones, Instrument Gains and much more. And on top of that, the behaviour of each button can be changed between push, toggle, enable and disable, depending on the base function.
Users of the Fireface UFX built before June 2011 will need to contact Synthax Audio UK, as a hardware modification is required to use the RME ARC. The RME Advanced Remote Control is available for £129 Inc VAT.
