AES 2014: Lisson Grove AR1

In a new collaboration with US-based company Lisson Grove, Unity Audio have announced that they will be manufacturing the Lisson Grove AR1 mono valve compressor under licence in the UK. Designed by Lisson Grove founder Hugo Nicolson, the British producer and engineer who won a Grammy for his work on Radiohead’s In Rainbows, the AR1 is adapted from the EMI RS124 compressor used extensively at Abbey Road from the 1960s onwards, which was itself based on the Altec 436. Expect high-quality vintage sounds from this British-made compressor, which is available now priced £2874$4295.
