In this month's review of the Dave Hill Designs Europa 1 preamp, we promised to share the Audio Precision Analyser test results that Hugh obtained during the course of his review. The captioned pictures to the right of this page show those results.

This chart shows the Audio Precision Analyser results with the gain control set to minimum. Test Plot 2The Europa 1 has a broader frequency response at low gain levels than at high ones. Test Plot 3The Audio Precision Analyser results with the Even Harmonics control set to 4. Test Plot 4The Audio Precision Analyser results with the Even Harmonics control set to 8. Test Plot 5The Audio Precision Analyser results with the Odd Harmonics control set to 8. Test Plot 6This chart shows the distortion product ratio of the Europa 1 when both harmonics controls are set to maximum. Test Plot 7This plot shows the various low-cut filter frequency responses. Test Plot 8A plot showing the results of using the slew rate control: as the levels increase, the HF response gets curtailed because the amp doesn't have the slew rate to follow loud HF transient signals.
