For this month’s exclusive SOS competition, we’ve teamed up with Mackie to offer you the chance to win a complete live-sound setup, including active PA speakers, subwoofers, a mixer and speaker mounting poles, worth over £2500$3000!
The speakers come from Mackie’s acclaimed Thump range, which combine power and portability with outstanding sound reproduction. The Thump15v4 is their newest‑gen two‑way speaker with a 15‑inch woofer, boasting a maximum SPL of 130dB and a frequency response that extends right down to 41Hz. It’s powered by a whopping 1400W of Class‑D amplification, yet remains easily portable at just over 14kg (32lbs).
In addition to a pair of Thump15v4 full‑range speakers, this month’s winner will also receive a matching pair of Thump18Sv4 subwoofers. Based around an 18-inch high‑performance bass driver, the Thump18Sv4 can produce a massive 132dB SPL, and reaches down to an earth-shaking 33Hz. It features dedicated modes for integrating perfectly with a range of Mackie tops (including the Thump15v4), or you can configure its crossover manually for extra‑control.
In addition to the tops and subs, the winner will also receive a Mackie ProFX12v3+, a 12-channel analogue console with built-in digital effects, USB multitrack recording, Bluetooth streaming and more. Among its 12 inputs are seven of Mackie’s highly regarded Onyx preamps, and two Hi-Z‑capable inputs for connecting instruments. The mixer offers two aux busses: one pre-fader intended for stage monitors or foldback, and the other feeding the internal GigFX+ effects engine, which offers a choice of 12 effects, editable from the hi-res colour screen.
Finally, to complete the package you’ll also win a pair of Mackie SPM400 speaker mounts, allowing you to raise the Thump 15v4 speakers directly above the Thump18Sv4 subs.
