Re: Parametric EQ without valves?
A pair of the old Klark Teknik 31 band mono graphic equalisers would be an alternative.. I've seen them being sold of for silly prices at times.. worth checking PA companies selling gear. Might need a bit of TLC but they sound ..... Mmmmmmmm

Interesting... I did see that Klark-Teknik DN405 other places too (although not that cheap) - are they any good? They seemed to be targetted more at live sound than studio use, but I'm not sure what that means...
(not that I'll buy that one given the mysteries of portuguese customs)

How about the Rane unit, cost is reasonable and it doesn't suck (Even if it has a few bells and whistles that are not really required).
The KT is a nice workmanlike bit of kit, but may be a little pricey.

Re: Parametric EQ without valves?
You have revived a twelve year old topic with two one line posts. One of which was an unqualified attack on SOS forum moderation from a decade before you created your account here.
It would have been very easy to disapprove both posts and ban you from the SOS forums. But, as you can see, we prefer to remain accountable,
So, would you be kind enough to firstly qualify which specific 12 year old posts contain links to malware and viruses because even after all that time we would want to remove them.
And secondly, what exactly do you have in mind with this post?
Bearing in mind that no SOS moderator has posted in this topic; you have asserted that links to malware and viruses have been posted but have utterly failed to point out which those links are and which posts contain them; and that you are responsible for promoting the alleged dangerous links by reviving this historical topic.
Put up, or shut up.

Re: Parametric EQ without valves?
It's a shame if the sites linked to contain malware. But as a recent study reported that around 30,000 websites are hacked every day I personally wouldn't expect the Forum administrators to ensure all historic links are safe as this would just be unreasonable.
Throwing abuse at the moderators is uncalled for in any circumstance and is disappointing to see.

Jbap is on an extended holiday from the SOS forums....
Needless to say, SOS is not responsible for the content of any links published in user posts, and clicking on hot-links is always entirely at the user's own risk.
The moderators will gladly remove any material in contravention of the forum rules if reported specifically and with relevant details. Abuse of the volunteer moderation team is never acceptable.

..checked the above links (as one of them points to our site) - found a handful of "Not Found", but no malware-like incidents..

Re: Parametric EQ without valves?
Just to provide some closure on this, I've been through this 12-year old thread carefully and checked every link. I have not found any evidence of malware or viruses on any of the links. Most of the links were just dead -- references to products or articles which are no longer available -- while a few were http rather than https and might thus upset a modern browser. So, I've removed all the outdated links and references to them.
I now lay this ancient and largely irrelevant thread to rest once more...
