A friend recently bought a Sennheiser 421MkII on eBay. It looks and weights the same as mine, but his has no serial number engraved on the small metal plate at the base of the mic, and we also spotted that, inside the XLR connector, mine has a CE label and his hasn't. The seller, from Germany has a good feedback, including for other sennheiser mic, and the price looked reasonable for a second hand 421 (around 200 € if I remember well). Fake or "fallen from a truck" ??? Haven't got a chance to compare the sound though.
