Justifying the price difference between Roland MV 8000 and MV 8800

Hello everyone.

As there is a price difference of roughly £400 used between the two, and given the spec differences are these:

I feel I might be missing something that makes the MV 8800 about £400 dearer than a VGA expanded 8000.

(Also, though it says the 8800 exclusively has colour monitoring, in all the demos and pics I've seen of it, the monitor hooked up to the 8000 appears to have colour e.g.:

http://www.roland.com/products/en/MV-8000_Version_3.5/index.html )

Disregarding MPCs for the moment, any other recommendations for comparable workstations between £500-£1000 would be much appreciated. I am a relative newb but have been doing my best to research intuitive hardware-based options with a good-sized monitor-style editable interface.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Best regards.

Hi.
I have MV8800 and works very nice. Dont know much about core difference between it and 8000 version, but I have heard people complain over continued suport and possible software upgrades. I dont think there is that much dif in actual hardware... check 'mv nation' they know whats what..
