With Apple it's always Earl Grey with a dash of lemon, but very nicely made and served in a cup designed by Jony Ive with a price tag to match.

With Linux, you're given a toolbox to build your own boiler and the cup is to be assembled by carefully riveting together ten tiny plates of coated aluminium in random shapes without a reference drawing but when you manage you get a super tight and isolating cup that can be used for tea, coffe and even as a temporary gasoline holder should the need arise.

One thing to think about is that OSX was designed to be a proper OS, while windows 10 has been built upon many layers of pre-existing software.

So even though they both claim to have preemption and fully support SMP one does it well and one does it badly.

It's pretty simple to make Windows 10 unresponsive, just load all the cpus up and watch the whole thing grind to a halt, do the same thing on OSX and the whole system remains responsive.

For me also OSX is designed to enable me to do lots of things at the same time, windows has improved with 10 but the multiple desktops multiple apps paradigm on OSX is just better.

Usually I run Windows 10 in VMWare fusion on the Mac to run the development software I use for work, so for everything else I use the Mac, this includes shells to Linux machines, OS X development tools, browsers, pdfs, mail. All that sort of stuff.

The current work I am doing though the company is paranoid and I have to use a bit locker windows pc, so I am having to spend my working days fully in Windows 10. I would say my productivity is probably down by 20-30%, this is why I like macs!

Oi - are youi being rude about my new MacBook Pro? - in Space Grey, of course - ;) :protest:

I do use both Mac and a Windows PC - but I do everything on the Mac and only use the PC when I *have* to on software that is PC only.

After using a Mac, going back to the PC seems so "clunky" in comparison.
