AKG Headphone repair

Postby Chimera » Tue Nov 20, 2018 2:05 pm

Hi folks,

I've got a pair of AKG K702's that are about 2 and a bit years old. I've always looked after them and they haven't had a huge amount of use.

Today the right side driver went completely dead as I was playing. No crackles, just went from working to dead. I was repositioning them at the time. I've tied the cable with my daughter's AKG's and they work fine - so it doesn't seem to be the cable.

As I remember I got them at a good price so it's unlikely to be cost-effective to pay to have them repaired. Is there any way to take them apart so I can check if there is a loose wire?
