I use a steel pot scrub like this..........

.......stuffed into the lid from an aerosol can.

Works very well and I’ve never had a problem in over 10 years doing this. The pot scrubs are extremely cheap and readily available and a pack of 4 will last me a good few years (if not forever!)

Brilliant! Had a non-delivery of a nice copper one from amazon so DIY to the rescue! :)
