Dubler voice-activated MIDI (Kickstarter)

Postby BJG145 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 5:11 pm

I was interested to see a new voice-activated MIDI system on Kickstarter.

Let's hope they move a bit quicker than Imitone, which was funded with $90K in 2014 but is still in Beta...

The "Dubler" concept seems a bit different; instead of pitch-to-MIDI it's based on the idea of software that learns particular sounds (which could also be non-vocal) and associates them with samples. I'm a bit surprised they found it necessary to include a proprietary mic though; the projected retail price of £300 seems pretty steep to me, and I'm surprised they've already reached double their target with £84K.

I suspect that's because are a lot more people with higher confidence in their vocal abilities than their keyboard skills ;)

Some of my musical works.
I had a weird time in Surrey once, but that was a drummer's fault.

Definitely some interesting tech, but it's always difficult to get Kickstarter projects off the ground. Especially for Music Production products
