You'll be fine with either of these, as long as you don't want to record all of your sources at the same time, not an issue if you're a solo artist! But if friends want to play too you've only got two inputs basically, so you won't be able to record vocals, piano, guitar, to seperate tracks on your DAW unless you overdub.
There's not a lot to choose between these two devices in terms of facilities, but my preference would be for the Focusrite in terms of sound quallity, but that's just my personal preference.

Just my personal opinion as well but I doubt anyone could demonstrate a difference in the sound quality of the 2i2 and the NI? In fact it would probably be hard to differentiate either AI from one costing several times the price. In a word, do not sweat sound/converter quality on modern kit!

I would go NI KA2 (well. I would, wouldn't I?) but mainly for lower latency and probably better drivers.

Quite honestly though, there is now a Mkll KA6 and it is not that much more money for a vastly more flexible interface?

Point: I have the old KA6 of course but also a F'rite 8i6. Now I have never done a strict A/B test but really never notice any sound quality difference. Then again don't either from my venerable M-A 2496!

The focusrite has balanced outputs, which gives it the edge in my opinion. :)

Does the KA2 not? I shall look it up. But, whatever, I would take super solid drivers and very low latency over balanced outs any day. So long as the out puts are of low impedance there is rarely any trouble.

Er? Nope! The KA1 is unbalanced but the Two is balanced.

BTW, does the electronic piano have MIDI? If so, no brainer!

Ah, didn't realise the two was balanced. And yes, midi socket is important.
P.S. never had any problems with the drivers on my Focusrite (8i6) either. :)

Yes, my 8i6 is fine but there have been a few forum reports of driver issues with the 2i2 but I have never seen any regarding my KA6. Of course, often it is the nut holding the mouse!

Good shout, interfaces are like mixers, you always wish you had more inputs.

Indeed, I am constantly trying to steer noobs away from those ultra cheap AIs with just one mic input. They are doomed to be very frustrated, very quickly.

I CAN see the reasoning (a bit) behind a really good quality interface with just one XLR and possibly ADAT. I would guess such a box would get used mainly for quality monitoring and the mic pre just a handy, once in a while provision.
