Roland R-26 battery replacement?

Postby Albert2019 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 10:55 am

My audio recorder Roland R-26 is still in good shape. When I recently took the lid off a small lithium battery with solder fin (11 mm) was to be seen on the main pcb. The battery does not look happy anymore, given the symptoms of leakage.
I am aware that sending the R-26 to a Roland service center is the easiest and professional solution, but it is also rather costly. Soldering in a new battery should be easy, but where to obtain such a battery with solder fin? Moreover, what is the function? Removing the battery may require re-loading software, or the like. Roland apparently does not supply a service manual for its products.
Do you have a hint on how to go about?
