I recently upgraded my audio interface from a presonus audiobox iOne to an apollo mkii duo core and have been getting familiar with console and UA's plugins.
Prior to this, I recorded vocals through logic pro X and would have a vocal chain of Antares Autotune EFX followed by some slight compression and reverb/delay.
Now that I'm using UA's console program, I've been experimenting with their unison preamps (neve, manley voxbox etc.) and they sound great, except I find that their realtime version of autotune pro is harder to manipulate into a natural vocal performance during real time recording (I record RnB).
Does anyone have advice on tracking vocals with these two version of autotune and care to weigh in? I find that autotune EFX is simpler to manipulate but I worry if i don't record through console's version of autotune etc i may not be getting the most out of my apollo
