Logic Pro RTA Mic Not Reading EQ

Postby tallen55 » Thu Nov 14, 2019 9:14 pm

I am trying to check my control room response with an RTA mic, using Logic Pro. The mic pics up a strong signal of the pink noise, but no info is generated on the EQ graph. Running logic pink noise signal generator through Stereo Out, and RTA mic plugged into a channel with the EQ plugged in. I tried channel EQ, linear EQ and the multi meter. It's a DBX RTA mic. I have 2 and same response from both.

No use trying to do RTA for room response as the bass end will be hopelessly misrepresented. The integration time used for RTA is too short for the FFT algorithm to get the bass right.

You need to record a sample of the noise over quite a few seconds, then select the clip and do a frequency analysis on that.
