They've been taking lessons from the biros. I thought I had more than I can find.

It could, but you'd need the I/O device to add the MIDI over Ethernet into the data stream for the Ethernet port(s). Probably not a trivial firmware change. But until MIDI 2.0 is finalised, then I doubt you'll see MIDI on Dante AIs, and even then, MIDI may well end up as a separate interface. And maybe another at the other end. Can't find any Dante interfaces fitted with with MIDI in a quick (not exhaustive) search.

"The Jewson lot" is a (British) figure of speech that means "all of them". It came from a number of adverts on TV years back for a building/DIY supply company called Jewson's. Their catchphrase was "We've got the Jewson lot".

Ah OK - it was your typo that threw me. I often see expressions and phrases in your posts that I've never seen elsewhere. This one yielded 0 google search results. Wasn't aware of this advert, either.

They're common expressions and phrases on Dave's home planet.

Trouble is, you'll put them down before lunch, then after lunch they've either all disappeared (apart from one with a Euro 2-prong plug on the end), or else you'll have 10x the original amount.

St Albans
I presume the electronics shop in London Road is no longer there then?
I used to live there until my parents retired and moved to Lincolnshire in the 90s.
I have a similar problem finding one of my three tape measures but not cables, there’s always a surplus in my loft.

I'm sure that all of us are regularly binning bits and pieces that others would love to have. I make it a point to try to home everything I no longer need, and I'd encourage others to do the same. At the very least make a noise about it so folks have a chance to jump at it.

+1

Despite regularly intending to, I haven't sold any gear since 1994. If unused/un-needed it's usually passed on to a friend who can use it, or one of their kids. I'm a big believer in helping youngsters to get started with something useful, and although lots of gear is cheap these days many of them genuinely struggle to find the means to pay for it.

That might be true but having followed this thread I'm considering the possibility they have emigrated, which makes me feel a whole lot better.
