BOSS RC 505 - Save individuals overdubs separately WAVES files

Postby BBB75 » Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:13 pm

Hi, Just got the BOSS RC 505 Loop Station, Loving it.

But I was wondering is there a way to save/access/record each overdubs tracks separately from the main "flatten" track you get on each 5 tracks of the looper.

For example :
Take one from Track 1 : Wav file 1-1
Overdub from track 1 : Wave file 1.2
Overdub 2 from track 1 : Wave file 1.3

Take one from Track 2 : Wav file 2-1
Overdub from track 2 : Wave file 2.2
Overdub 2 from track 2 : Wave file 2.3

Hope I'm clear enough. Purpose would be for example for a recorded video session, to edit, fix, mix afterwards every part of the session on Ableton for example, via the generated wave file, with more flexibility.

Not sure theres any option on the actual boss system, but maybe a trick to achieve the same results. Thanks

If it's recording them as separate .wav files can't you just import them into a DAW and put them in separate tracks? (I have an RC300 but haven't tried this)?

You certainly can - and it's the way I would do it.

But, TBH, I don't see much point using a looper for stuff like this - just use a DAW.

I sometimes use a looper, it's more immediate but if it's for a 'serious' recording then, yes, straight into Reaper.
