You can also provide power via the D-sub, so you could make up (or have made) a cable with power and digital audio via the D-sub for a single-cable connection solution...

I didn't notice that. I shall investigate, thanks. One of my few small dislikes is that the breakout cable has a load of strands of which I use just one. A custom cable might be just the thing.

PS It lets you put your own logo on the main screen. How cool is that?

CC

Edit: well maybe not very cool but it's small things like that that make me happy ...

A custom logo can be loaded into Clarity M, appearing on the Radar screen in the
bottom right corner. To do this:
- Place a .png image file in the Logo folder while connected to a computer
- The .png file can have any name. If more .png files are placed in the logo folder,
the top one alphabetically will be chosen.
- If you are placing a logo for the first time, you can toggle RTA/Radar to load the
logo on the radar page.
- In case you need to replace the logo, you'll need to reboot the unit.

Requirements for the logo:
- .png with or without transparency
- Native resolution is 164x35
- If the image is larger than this resolution, it will be reduced while keeping the
aspect ratio. It will always be aligned at the bottom right.

I use my avatar here as the icon for my music hard drive and an icon in Logic. It’s quite amusing to see one’s face in professional software.

and sometimes it impresses the clients as much as blinky lights.

I'm straying a little off-topic here, but on the subject of adding little personal touches... If you're a Reaper user, you can change the splash screen to any pic you want. Like your business logo, for example.

Eg. instructions here.
