Have to admit I did brake the habit of a lunchtime and read the manual. Sorry about that, bad idea I know.

Look, mate... Before you go off throwing this kind of knowledge around, just give a moment's thought for the damage it can do to lives, that's all I ask. Sheesh! ;)

I'm actually giving myself a silent pat on the back for not pulling you up on this 6 hours ago. I like to think I'm growing as a person... ;)

Just to round out this topic, here's what I've got from the Clarity M so far, and that is mainly to trust my ears! I've been going over lot of my old mixes with the meter and I'm finding for the majority the programme loudness is in the range + or -1 or so of -16 LUFS. So what has always sounded right to me in terms of compression is actually round about the target I'm now consciously trying for. And that's valuable information.

It is indeed, but as you've found, it's often reassuring to have a visual readout to confirm what your ears tell you, especially as they are getting older ;)

I have also found that I am starting to get clients with '-14 anxiety'. For these it is important that I deliver to target. For those (majority) who still want peak normalisation then it is equally important that I can tell them about the potential consequences.

And now that Hugh has told me that the Clarity can screen print, that image will be going with the mixes!
