Sound Devices Mixpre 3M issue

Postby jantore90 » Sat Feb 08, 2020 9:18 pm

Hey, I recently bought this recorder used, and have been impressed so far. I work as a filmmaker, and usually I record just one, maybe two channels. Today I had one boom, and two wireless lav mics.

On to the issue. Most of the time, the recorder works just fine, but at some instances, I can't adjust the volume on track 3 with the knob. Nothing happens when I turn it. And when I turn around knob number two, it flickers between adjusting track 2 and 3.

Is this a hardware/software fault, or have i f*** up a setting?

That's not an issue I've come across.

If channels one and two and linked, then channel one knob alters the monitoring level of both channels and channel two knob alters the left/right balance, which is possibly what you're hearing.

Best approach would be to make sure channel linking and MS are both off and check all other menu options. Also worth making sure the firmware is up to date.
