Focusrite Control 2802 - using with Presonus Studio One

Postby aj5string » Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:46 am

Hi All,

I'm looking at a Focusrite 2802 - really like the idea of the work flow, and the preamps. 2 questions... has anyone got experiece of them and/or a similar product?

But most importantly, am looking at using it as a DAW controller with Presonus Studio One - is this do able and will it work?

Have a read of Hugh Robjohns' SOS review back in December 2010, as it talks about DAW control side of things as 2802 uses HUI protocol or Mackie Control for the DAW parameter control:

As a Studio One Professional user myself, unless the 2802 was a stonking bargain and I didn't mind a less than 100% integration with my DAW, I think I'd choose a PreSonus StudioLive III instead since PreSonus have a beautiful 2-way integration with their software/hardware. The 16-channel model isn't too expensive new and there's some 2nd user bargains on eBay, SOS Readers' Ads and Gumtree every now and then.
