I bought some identical Mixcubes (via a Sound on Sound reader ad) a few years back and when they arrived one had the exact same issue, It didn't respond straight off to my re- shaping attempts but I tried again (gently) a few times over the course of a couple of weeks. One morning I came in and it had miraculously reverted to it's proper shape.

I didn't notice any sonic issue before during or after the process. The dented and undented speakers seemed identical.

BTW they have been a most useful addition to my monitoring setup, used either singly or as a pair. I'd be lost without them now.
