Hi.
I may be being stoooopid, but with the Pultec and it's clones, there is a boost knob and a cut knob working together on the same freq and both could be at 10 ! How does this not just cancel each other out?

Thanks.

Jim

They have different curves and affect different frequencies. The behaviour of both controls combines to give a complex curve.

As others have said, they are different EQ circuits with different responses, so they combine in 'interesting ways' to create something new -- typically an LF boost with a low-mid cut.

I think I was thinking too scientifically about this.
