Audacity

Postby SimonK » Wed Oct 07, 2020 11:10 am

Hi, I want to do some basic recording...vocal over BTs...I have installed Audacity onto my Windows 10 laptop...I have a Mackie mixing desk connected via Alesis io2 interface...for some reason, even though my microphone is being recognised by Audacity, I cannot seem to record any vocals!! Any suggestions please!!
Thank you in anticipation

Do you get any sound levels registering on the Audacity Recording Level Meter during recording ?

Assuming you have some headphones to hand, first check you're getting sound into the Mackie, then do the same with the interface to check it's reaching there.
Then I'd be checking that Audacity is using the Alesis as its in/out device.
Then I'd be checking that I've got the right input assigned to the right channel.
