Since Aston microphone have been around (particularly the Spirit and Origin) - they have received plenty of press coverage and praise for their large diaphragm mics.
SE Electronics - at the same price point - for their large diaphragm mics who were previously plenty of press coverage and praise for their mics - are not receiving anywhere near the accolades they were once receiving.
Is the Aston Spirit of better quality than the SE 2300 in sound and/or build quality?
Has anyone got experience of both of these mics to giive an opinion?
Particularly interested how they both perform on male vocals (not heavy metal or rap)

The people now behind Aston were, previously, the people who fronted sE... and they are very good at flag-waving which might explain some of the focus shift. Both brands make useful mics though.
