Noise from Computer monitor

Postby JanSteele » Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:23 pm

I just added a Profire 610 and Rokit 6 monitors to my system. I immediately got a lot of noise which I established is caused by my Samsung T220 monitor which is connected via a VGA cable and the Apple adaptor to the Mac mini-DVI port.

The Rokits are connected to the Profire by unbalanced jack to phono. I tried breaking the ground loop by slightly removing one of the phono jacks but it didn't have any effect. The only way to get rid of the noise entirely is disconnecting the Samsung computer monitor.

Plugging the Samsung in in another room reduced the noise to a tolerable level, but I would like to eliminate it altogether & still be able to use my external monitor. Any ideas?
