Hi all,

Long time subscriber to SOS and browser of these forums.

I recently worked on a mix for a band who would classify themselves as "rock opera", I guess you could call it a mix of prog, rock, metal, middle eastern, opera and whatever you like!

I'm interested to know what people think of the mix, production and music as a whole. Any sort of constructive feedback would be much appreciated thanks:

I'm listening to it now.

First off - are you sure this is an actual band and not a guy in his own project studio?

I would have a look at the tuning of the Snare drum in "Why".

Overall I like the demos and the overall sound. Nicely mixed - I'm assuming this all took a lot of effort to achieve.

Unless you are 14 years old I would lose the band info part of myspace. It sounds like you are not taking yourself seriously. So many artists on myspace use phrases like "and like a phoenix from the ashes so and so band was born"

In conclusion I would listen to this and buy it. Its a bit like Rammstein with some Indian instruments layered on top. But I can't think of another band doing it.

Haha, yeah I'm sure it's an actual band (not mine either). The album was initially recorded through a Digidesign 002 and my boss was approached to remix the album. I assisted on it all and much work was done to bring the sounds to the level you hear them at there.

Re: the band info section. I hear you but this is the angle they're going for!
