5.1 hifi system, budget c£300...recommendations

Postby forumuser637535 » Thu Aug 05, 2010 9:00 pm

I need to spec a 5.1 system to install in a small music shop for playback of an ipod. Anyone recommend one?

I'm thinking 5.1 just to have a few satellite speakers to put up in the corners, plus an active sub/amp powering them to sit under the counter. A system able to give a bit of welly if they want to turn it up a bit, and with a good hifi sound. It's not for mixing or anything. But I've no idea where to look for this kind of thing. Any recommendations? I'd need to do the cabling as well.

The room is rectangular, c40-50feet long and about 15 feet wide.

Not strictly "recording" technology, I know, sorry!

panasonic did one for about £200 with a built ipod dock - not too bad for a budget thing. I got one for my sons room as it also had an optical input (PS3 games with surround sound to hear who's sneeking up behind you!).

Have a look around the What Hi-Fi site.

Heres a link to the speakers page Speakers Page LINK

Theres also a forum there too, to get more detailed advice.

Hope that helps.
