Easy to Use DAW

Postby tallboss » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:49 pm

Hi Guys

I record on a Zoom MRS8, and want to link up to a D.A.W. I know this can be done.

Can anyone give some recommendations of a good, easy to use, and on the cheaper end, DAW?

Thank you

Cheapest with full functionality is probably Reaper - free if you don't get a license. (Which would be naughty if you're using it much, but possible.) Or Audacity, but Audacity's support for VSTs ain't great and it's generally not very friendly - it's really a wave editor, not a DAW.

For easy-to-use, Mixcraft is very easy to us and relatively cheap, but it doesn't have the features that Reaper does.

Err?
Almost "All things that can be used as an Audio Interface" come with some sort of software, most commonly Cubase LE.

The Zoom may not come with any but a look at their website might be profitable?

MAC or PC?

Garageband is s'posed to be simple and good for MAC and, seconding Grab, Mixcraft 5 is getting some good reviews for PC-based stuff. Some say it's the PC equivalent of Garageband.

Thanks guys - it looks like Mixcraft wins the day. Easy to use, and very logical to use! It does what I want it to do, the way I want to do it!

Thanks for the help and suggestions :bouncy:
