One issue that I've had in the past is with a length of hair pushing its way through the grille and touching the diaphragm. This has caused the headphones to sound distorted but, once you know what to look for, the fix is easy.

I’m still considering upgrading the DT880 Pro’s as I do a lot of work on headphones.
I’m not saying I don’t like the DT880’s but I’m wondering how much of an upgrade something like the Beyer DT1990’s or Shure SRH1840’s would offer and whether it would be a worthwhile investment?
