...you might need to be a tad more specific Zuke. You want shiny knobs. But how many? What do you want to do with them? Do they need to be continuous encoders or are conventional pots OK? Etc. Might be worth looking at the MIDIfighter stuff?

Not sure it will work out cheaper than the CIRCLEFADE, but if you want perfection, maybe you could get an arduino board (or similar) and make your own ?
