Online session guitarist - recommendations...?

Postby BJG145 » Thu Aug 23, 2018 2:18 pm

...just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an affordable online session guitarist who could potentially add some prog/rock flourishes to a couple of tracks...

Blimey, you want session guys on t'internet?

I can't bung a rock without hitting guitarists at the moment. All of varying styles and sounds. For someone prog and rock, I'd be PMing either ArkieBoy or SSG and seeing if they fancied some nice thrashing. For softer, more melodic stuff, I'd ping Wonks a message.

I could go on ... ;)

And that's just people wot hang about on the forums.. If I did this on the old facebook thingy, it would go critical...

Henry Amat (@guitarcafe in twitter) is a versatile guy and records at a good level. He’s based in Natal (Brasil) but online sessions with European musicians is what he mostly does. He’s also a skype guitar teacher... to sum up, he’s quite used to online collaborations of all kinds.

(Send him my regards if you get in touch!)

Here's a shameless plug for an old mate, Jamie Humphries. I believe he's in Sweden at the moment but he's no stranger to working remotely and over the net. His guitar wizardry is world-class (rock, fusion, prog), and his writing, arrangement and recording kung-fu is very strong.

Official SIte

Sample Playing (original piece)

He's often on Skype, so it might be worth looking him up there.

Steve (Arkieboy) has the most prog credentials ......

I have been accused of being a bit more Rock than Prog, and a bit more Hard rock than Metal, which I think,. might mean I rock.... errrr.... I can occasionally knock out a few notes....
