Recording 'line out' virtually

Hello. There are some delay effects in adobe audition that I like, and don't appear to be automate-able. I was going to take a line out and record, then play it back in, but I'd much rather capture it virtually.

Is there any way to route or capture the output in realtime without taking a line out, with standalone software like audition? Is there some software similar to streaming software that will capture it? In full quality obviously.

Thanks in advance.

If you are running Win 7 there should be an option to use the On Board Soundcard usually Realtech or some such moniker.

You might have to do a bit of hacking around in the W7 Sounds menu (quite possible that OBS is turned off. Enable it for the duration) . What you need is to record "Stereo Mix".

Quality? This is all in the digital domain, no converters involved so good as it gets?

If you are running W10 I understand the facility has been removed and you will need some additional software. Someone here will know what.

Dave.
