Best plug-ins for Cakewalk by Bandlab

Postby BigT11 » Thu Jan 17, 2019 11:24 am

Hi. I used to use Cakewalk Sonar on an old OS which came with loads of good internal voices, drum kits etc.
I've just downloaded Cakewalk by Bandlab.
Can anyone suggest a good plugin with a good range of sounds / voices, possibly plus drum kits which would work with this daw please?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi BigT11

Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried your old sonar plugins - probably most will still work!

If not - Cakewalk by Bandlab is happy with VSTs so you have a huge range of plug-ins you can choose from.

I don't have the old plugins. I was hoping for actual suggestions for good plugins, preferably good value. Thanks

There's gazillions of very good plugins, but all depends on what you want to do with them. :-)

Which problem are you trying to solve, or what do you want to achieve?

Hi BigT11, and welcome to the SOS Forums from me too! 8-)

Also, what musical genre are you interested in, and how much money (if any) do you have to spend?

What would work well for a rock band sound could differ markedly from plug-ins suitable for someone into experimental electronica, but there are both professional and freeware items out there that are good.
