Hi mammy,

Well, unless this is something special that I've not yet heard about, a spectral shaper is effectively a dynamic EQ (i.e. it changes frequency response in response to the loud and quiet bits of your audio, but only at certain frequencies, most particularly to deal with unruly transients).

Meanwhile, a stereo imager changes the positions of the different frequencies across left to right in your stereo playback chain (for instance forcing the really low frequencies to remain in the middle, or the high end of reverb, delays and the like to happen at the extreme left and right to make details leap out of your mix), but does nothing to the dynamics.
