Abbey Road Studio 3

Hello. I'm really confused about this plugin. Why did they go to all the trouble of making the sound adjust according to where your head is in the virtual room rather than fixing your ears to ideal 'sweet spot' in the centre? Surely that's an advantage of hearphones, that it doesn't alter when you move your head?

Also, how can their actual studio monitors be translated to headphones?

They didn't -- the sound field heard at the plug-in is indeed fixed at the sweet spot, it's just that it follows as you rotate your head.

The videos seem to suggest that if you move around, the reflections alter to match your head in relation to their virtual speakers. So if you turn your head to the right, your left ear isn't facing the speakers? Thanks

But only if you've got the appropriate hardware fitted to your headphones. So you don't have to use it. Some people may like it, a lot won't. View it more as a bit of 'fairy dust' for the marketing people to make use of.
