Hey guys, hope the new year is going great for you so far!
Really simple question, as a new producer, should I be focusing on remixes or original music?
I find more enjoyment in making originals, and I find remixing somewhat harder because I have to almost work backwards, from a vocal for example, to the main melodies.
In terms of remixes, should I be focusing on the tracks that belong to the genre I would like to produce, or does it not matter that much?
Any other generic advice would be more than welcomed!
P.S. I’m new to the forum, how do you reply to a comment?
Thanks in advance

Make music that makes your heart sing - there's no point doing it unless you love what you do. Don't make choosing what you want to do a technical exercise - there's plenty of time for that when you get into the art of mixing!
