Free fully-scripted 16-part 'Mixing Secrets' Video Series!

Postby Mike Senior » Wed Feb 19, 2020 8:07 am

As you may know, I've written a book called 'Mixing Secrets For The Small Studio', in which I set out a step-by-step mixing process for students wanting to learn how to create commercial-sounding mixes.

To supplement the book's recent 2nd Edition, I've put together a 16-part video tutorial series illustrating the step-by-step mixing workflow in practice, using as an example a full-band multitrack session recorded under real-world project-studio conditions.

All of these videos (more than four hours of fully scripted content) can now be viewed for free on the book's web resource site, where you can also download both the raw demonstration multitrack files and my completed Reaper DAW mix project.

In addition to the videos, the book's web resources also include hundreds of audio processing examples, download links for all my favourite freeware plug-ins, hundreds of in-depth mix critiques, and plenty of sources of further information.

Hope it's useful! :D

Love that this starts with the necessary groundwork, unlike many dubious 'courses' that begin with 'choosing a parallel compressor for drums'.

Great stuff, this!

Thanks for these. I've read my copy of the book a couple of times, but I'm picking up many things here.
Pros:
- Judgements verbalized very well
- Succint comments ...
- ... but plenty of time for listening
- Applicable to all DAWs and generic effects
Cons:
- At this price, nothing

I have been following this on Patreon and it really is top class.

The best book with the best resources on the subject I dare say!

Cheers Mike!

Yes, I too would like to add my thanks and congratulations on an excellent series Mike. I've had the book for ages, but the video series really enhances it and I can see you've done a fantastic job of it even though I'm only part way through!
