Hey Ben,

This is not a race. It's your music. I'm in no hurry! I wish I were mixing some prog at the moment!
You only have to mix under pressure when it's your job, and I'm guessing it's not?

Okay, finally had a couple of focused hours to go through the mix again and address another critique:

Spotlighting the solo sections a bit more with automation, some panning and some level-based.

Sounds very like an outtake from 'Close to the Edge' now! You've managed to capture a spirit of true 70s prog here! Well done, mate.

But please, please, pretty please - lose that Casio home keyboard brass in the early song sections!

Maybe a bit of the mud needs soaking up from the bass. You could also be a braver with delay and reverb on some of those ethereal guitar parts - think 'Gates of Delerium'. I've agreed to disagree on the Moog lead - though if you'd like me to track my real MiniMoog for those parts you know where I am! ;) :D

What a massive journey of improvement from that earier version.

I’m not going to wade in with mix advice Ben - you have plenty of good involvement above - and have made some excellent changes - and I know you didn’t want comment on the content, but I gotta say....

That last section from 9mins is effing uplifting....!!

Ace writing fella.

Thanks for the continued tweaks, Elf! I think I am getting it to the point where it’s as far as I can take it, I think. One or two more passes and it will be what it will be, I’ve gotta get the next song out to the drummer ... I’m pretty excited about the arrangement on the next one. :)

Good morning! About to head out to Central Park for a long ride, I hope everyone is keeping safe and healthy!

Hopefully this mix ticks most of the boxes!

Sorry, Elf, the 'Casio' horns are a feature, not a bug. :D
